Scott Runion Sculptures

Triskelion

"Triskelion," Is comprised of three tricycles linked in a circle facing outwards to create a triskelion pattern. Through the use of a modified child's toy the sculpture explores themes of connectivity, interdependence, and the collective impact of individual actions.

The arrangement of the tricycles in a circular formation symbolizes unity, continuity, and cyclical motion, emphasizing interconnectedness. The outward-facing orientation of the tricycles suggests individual paths all of which are not possible without cooperation. The hindered independent movement creates the physical limitation serving as a metaphor for the constraints and dependencies that exist within global interconnected systems.

This child's toy is symbolic of global social, political and environmental struggles. Individual actions and functions are intertwined and interdependent, with repercussions that extend beyond their immediate sphere of influence.
